Savills real estate consultancy opens Hainan branch

Savills, a global real estate services provider listed on the London Stock Exchange and a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index announced the launch of its 17th China branch on Friday in Haikou to explore the market in Hainan.

On Dec 20th, Savills Hainan, the 17th branch of Savills China, held an opening ceremony at Baifang Building in Haikou. According to their website “The opening indicates a solid step towards the Hainan market for Savills. In the future, Savills will further integrate into Hainan and help the development of the island province with its professional real estate services.”

According to Robert McKellar the executive chairman of Savills Asia Pacific, “Savills Hainan will focus on property and asset management services, project development consultancy, hotel development and investment brokerage.”

“I strongly believe there are many untapped opportunities in Hainan where Savills can work with different enterprises to better enter the island market,” he said.

Woody Lam, Managing Director of Savills Southern China, said at the opening ceremony: “Savills has been working to develop the Hainan market for many years. The formal establishment of the office in Haikou means that Savills will play a more active role in opening up Hainan’s market and developing a full line of professional services. The opening of the new office marks the full start of Southern China’s ‘Dual Engines, Dual Wings’ strategy—Guangzhou and Shenzhen serving as the two engines moving at full speed and Hainan and Fujian as the two wings, with both achieving strategic development and expanding business lines in the Southern China market.
